Turkey: Death Of Gaddafi is A Lesson For Other Regional Countries

The death of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi is rolled round the history that must be considered as a "bitter lesson," Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

The fate of Gaddafi and his regime is a bitter lesson that must be carefully reexamined regarding the movements of change and transformation in the region, the ministry said.

The ministry said Gaddafi's death has opened a new era in Libya who need to complete the political process by "embracing all segments of society in unity and without allowing any room for personal ambition, and any feelings of resentment and revenge," he said.

The foreign ministry said Turkey would continue to support Libya in the past.

New Libyan state television channel on Thursday broadcast the death of Libyan strongman ruling with an iron fist for decades it.

Semetara Libyan government information minister confirmed to Reuters that the Mo `tassim killed and hiding with his father in Sirte.

A number of officials of the National Transitional Council (NTC) said, Muamar Gaddafi was killed during the battle for control of his native city of Sirte on Thursday.

However, some major Western countries that support the rebels control of Tripoli, Libya two months ago said they were still looking for confirmation of the truth of the news.

Gaddafi has been wanted since the NTC control Libyan capital, Tripoli, in August, and he managed to evade capture despite NTC troops get some clues about its location.

He repeatedly throws promises to continue the war, when more and more countries recognize the NTC as a government in power in Libya.

Gaddafi, leader of the Arab world's longest and has been in power for four decades, insists he will stay in power despite opposition by many parties.
